Vestax VCI-400: New Four- Channel DJ MIDI Controller Introduced
Lots of controls in one compact unit -- Vestax Corporation has introduced the VCI-400, a professional four-channel DJ MIDI controller said to offer versatile control functions and premium sound quality.
If you are a DJ and you need an instrument that adapts to your style of performance, the VCI-400 is probably the controller for you. The VCI-400 works with its bundled software (Serato DJ Intro and Virutal DJ LE 4 Decks), of course, as well as any other DJ software, such as Traktor Pro 2, MixVibes, TORQ 2, Deckadance, and more.
The VCI-400, which allows you to customize control assignments, features an ergonomic four-channel layout that puts all the right controls in place for standard DJ software operation such as cueing, pitch control, looping, FX control, track browsing / loading, triggering samples, and scratching.
The unit's control surface consists of high-resolution JOG wheels with torque and sensitivity control, and there is an option to adjust each parameter so that DJs can tailor the functionality of the JOG wheels to what is most suitable for their style. In addition, the controller sports other standard Vestax fare, such as large aluminum Filter knobs, a responsive multi-mode transport section that triggers layers of controls instantly, buttons that are backlit with high-intensity LEDs, built-in LED Meter input faders, and much more. Overall, the VCI-400 provides versatile control functions plus excellent visual support for DJs in any environment.
The integrated audio interface uses a studio-grade asynchronous USB streaming system in order to provide low-latency, bit-perfect audio at 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution. This audio system is said to combine a dual-core digital processor with carefully selected analog components, to deliver clear and powerful sound.
The VCI-400 will come bundled with Serato DJ Intro and Virutal DJ LE 4 Decks software. A blank overlay for DJs who want to customize MIDI assigns and create their own layout is also included. MIDI maps for a variety of software -- including Traktor Pro 2, MixVibes, TORQ 2, Deckadance, and more -- will be available from the Vestax Web site upon release of the VCI-400.
