Vienna Symphonic Library Chamber Strings II: Son Of Chamber Strings
Think of Vienna Symphonic Library Chamber Strings II as the polar opposite of Hellboy II, which is the upcoming sequel to a bad movie, which we can only expect to be worse.
Chamber Strings (the first) won software instrument audiences over with its combination of intimate atmospherics and a wealth of articulations. The sequel builds on this successful collection, but addes a whole new dimension by including a series of muted (con sordino) string voices. The muted voices will be even softer, more intimate sounding. It will provide an even starker contrast to the timbres of full, bright orchestras. Muted instrument samples will include violins, violas, cellos, and double basses in small sections
In addition to the con sordino patches, Chamber Strings II offers even more bowing articulations, and a variety of fingering articulations like portamento and trill. The collection in full includes comprises 16 GB of the highest quality samples, performed by the same professional chamber ensemble that's been contributing to the Vienna Symphonic Library for years.
Chamber Strings II is available in VST (OS X, Win XP/Vista), RTAS (OS X) and AU (OS X) formats. It also functions as a stand-alone program, or with VSL's Viena Ensemble II host software.
