Vienna Symphonic Library RoomPack 3: Impulse Responses For Vienna MIR
Play your virtual instruments in a meditative, more angelic space, with Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL) RoomPack 3, a package of additional rooms for Vienna MIR. This release accompanies a slew of software updates for Vienna Suite and Vienna Ensemble Pro, as well as an extension of the company's Summer Specials, which are now valid through July 31, 2010.
RoomPack 3 adds extra virtual rooms to Vienna MIR multi-impulse response mixing and reverberation software. According to VSL, Vienna MIR features the unique and mystic spaces of "Steinhofkirche" -- one of Vienna’s famous Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) landmarks, built by Otto Wagner. To build the additional rooms, the church’s dense yet clear reverb of ten seconds was recorded from three different microphone positions in the nave.
With RoomPack 3, you can put yourself in that very church and place instruments on each side of the main microphones at numerous so-called HotSpots, or even use the entire balcony of the organ gallery and the gilded pulpit for your virtual instrument performances.
More than 2,200 impulse responses were captured to re-create the spacious acoustic properties of Steinhofkirche. RoomPack 3 is now available for download from VSL's Web shop for 125 EUR (or approximately $162).
In addition to RoomPack 3, VSL announced software updates for Vienna Ensemble Pro and Vienna Suite. The main improvements to Vienna Ensemble Pro include optimized performance with Native Instruments Kontakt and better loading / saving times via a network. Likewise, when using the VST3 version of Vienna Suite, a bypass-button is now available. In both software applications, a "hovering effect" has been added to some widgets. Both updates are available as free downloads for all registered users of Vienna Ensemble Pro and Vienna Suite.
For those who missed the Summer Specials, VSL has extended the deals through the end of July. Purchase a Vienna Special Edition, Special Edition Plus, Vienna Suite, or Vienna MIR through July 31, 2010 and receive a free Single Instrument Download of your choice (or two for Vienna MIR).
