Vigier Small-Run Handcrafted Walnut Top Guitars Now Available
Gearwire first encountered Vigier guitars at the 2007 MusikMesse in Frankfurt, stopping by for a video chat with chief luthier Patrice Vigier about his Excalibur fretless guitar. Today, the company sells a new series of handmade, limited-edition guitars topped with walnut wood. This can only add to the characteristic tone smoothness the company's guitars are already known for. From Vigier:
Vigier, pioneers of carbon fiber technology, are extremely proud to announce the exclusive release of the highly desirable finest French Walnut tops.
Walnut has a unique warmth and tonal depth, incorporating the snappy attack and solid lows of Ash, smooth highs like Mahogany and textured mids heard in Alder.
Our supplies of this beautifully figured specialty wood, are of limited quantities and are available on the Excalibur Special, Custom, Ultra and Ultra Blues guitars.
No word on price for the new Vigiers.
