Vox Limited-Edition AC15C1RD Guitar Amplifier: The AC15C1 In Vintage Red

September 14, 2010
Vox Limited-Edition AC15C1RD guitar amplifier comes in a custom Vintage Red color and has the same features as the Vox AC15C1.

This fall, guitarists will be able to get the Vox AC15C1 amplifier in a limited edition red color as the AC15C1RD.

The AC15C1RD amp in Vintage Red offers the same features as the AC15C1, which is currently part of the Vox Custom Series. According to the manufacturer, this custom red color, which first appeared in 1963, provides a vintage character and projects a powerful presence in any environment -- on stage, in the studio, or at home.

This upcoming release features three 12AX7 dual triode vacuum tubes in the preamp stage, and two EL84 pentode tubes in the power stage. As with all Custom Series models, it offers two channels -- Normal and Top Boost -- each of which is equipped with its own Volume control. The Top Boost channel offers interactive Treble and Bass tone controls, and both channels make use of the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section.

Its Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage and in turn allows for an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, Vox notes that you can enjoy the coveted clean Vox "chimey" sound said to be a powerful overdriven tone and everything in between.

Also included with the AC15C1RD amp is the Vox Classic Tremolo effect with adjustable controls for both the speed and depth, as well as a warm Spring Reverb that adds spaciousness to the sound.
