VOX Satchurator: All The Joe You Need In A Convenient Little Red Box

March 04, 2009
VOX Satchurator

The VOX Satchurator is a lil' red box full of gain and distortion, and it's just waiting for you to turn it on. Owen O'Malley walks us through the modern stylings of the Bald One's namesake, probably just in time for some sort of Buddhist holiday or other. Do they have holidays?

Presenter: Owen O'Malley And Gretchen Hasse, Gearwire

I don't think he's Buddhist

wow that pedal does not sound very good.
the best thing is how that tone knob and the "more" switch just make it sound tinny and thin.

Pad switch

By: Anonymous Coward

I heard that the pad switch is just designed to take the edge off an effect just before the Satchurator that might sound harsh. So it's not supposed to be like a hi-lo, active-passive kind of pad.

Owen you were born to entertain!

But what did you really think of the pedal?

meh

By: oomalley

I wasn't that impressed. I like a little more grit in my tone. The Satchurator was like having my signal sent though a bunch of rack processors, so the tone sounded just like that: processed. You know, like Velveeta. Just not my thing is all.

Respect.

By: StratfordBob

Thanks for that, you see I've have got lost looking for distortion (maybe what I want does not exist?), for a minute I was willing to be a bad Satch, but i guess you have pushed me off the fence to continue the quest.
You wouldn't be having a short list anywhere?
All the Best.

Satch fans who are hoping

By: Eponymous Cow Herd

Satch fans who are hoping that Coldplay gets nailed should probably keep their fingers crossed that Carlos Santana and Michelle Branch don't demand their shares of that settlement check.
