WaveMachine Labs iGOG Drum Machine App Plays Drumagog Sounds
Whip out your iPhone / iPod Touch again, because there's a new drum machine app available from the iTunes Store. The fun little app, WaveMachine Labs iGOG ($4.99), features sounds based on Drumagog and plays standard Drumagog files, providing up to 384 multisamples per drum.
iGOG turns the iPhone's screen into touch-senstive pads by using VelAUcity technology, which measures how hard the pads are hit and how to respond dynamically. You can play the pads hard or soft, or buildup a crescendo -- the slightest touch is captured. (Note that VelAUcity is only available on iPhone devices, not iPod Touch.) The app's Mic Trigger mode works like Drumagog, allowing you to trigger drum sounds using the iPhone’s built-in mic. All you have to do is tap your desk and iGOG turns your mundane furniture into a drumkit.
The included sequencer lets you record MIDI sequences that can be played back within iGOG or exported to your computer. Standard MIDI files can be imported to iGOG as well. Other features include Mixdown mode, which creates a .WAV file of the sequence you’ve recorded; file transfer, which allows you to move files back and forth from iGOG and your computer; and multipositional pads that let you alternate between open hats, closed hats, or semi-open hi-hats.
Additional Kits may be purchased within iGOG's Kit Store.
