Waves MultiRack Keeps Tabs On Plugins, Racks, Sessions, And More
Rumor has it that Waves will soon release its new MultiRack plugin platform (Mac / Win; approximately $600).
Designed especially for live sound, MultiRack is a software host that provides the functions, features, and ease of use as hardware effects at a fraction of the price. The plugin platform has simple routing (no cabling, rackmounting, or trucking), full recall, full control, preset save and set functions, and a quick, easy setup.
A MultiRack setup has four basic components: plugins, racks, snapshots, and sessions. The plugins process the audio; the racks hold multiple plugin processors; the snapshots (or presets) store your plugin and rack settings; and sessions store the settings for all plugins, racks, and snapshots.
The platform provides the power needed to run Waves plugins, so that you can do away with heavy effects units and complete your work with just MultiRack, a laptop, and an I/O. MultiRack comes bundled with the H-Delay and IR-L Native plugins. Look for more information about MultiRack at the Waves Web site.
