Now you can run lots of Waves plugins directly from a Yamaha mixing console, with the Waves Audio WSG-Y16 mini-YGDAI SoundGrid I/O card designed expressly for select Yamaha mixing consoles. Now shipping, the card makes it easier for touring musicians and engineers to take vintage outboard signal processing plugins and sounds on the road without having to bring bulky hardware.

The WSG-Y16 processes 16 channels of audio using Waves reverbs, equalizers, compressors, limiters, delays, and other signal-processing plugins. The new release works with the Waves SoundGrid Server (SGS), a Control PC, a network switch, and an authorized iLok with SoundGrid-compatible Waves plugins. What's more, the WSG-Y16 card supports MIDI input, for remote plugin control directly from the console or external control surface.

Waves' SoundGrid Audio-over-Ethernet networking and processing technology is the driving force behind this release, since it lets you run large numbers of Waves audio processors with low latency, using standard PCs via Ethernet. The Waves SoundGrid system and the new WSG-Y16 card work together to offer networking and processing capabilities to live-sound environments.

The WSG-Y16's main features include the following:
