Ride the new Waves line of post-production mixing tools: Vocal Rider, WNS Noise Suppressor, and LoAir. Vocal Rider automates the vocal riding part of the mixing process (hence the name), while the Noise Suppressor offers broadband noise suppression on dialog tracks and LoAir creates and enhances LFE content.  

We tried to get an interview with Chris Lord-Alge, we really did. Unfortunately we waited until the last possible minute, and the famed mix engineer had to beat it to an important gig. After checking out the new Waves Eddie Kramer Collection at AES, we wondered what kind of input Eddie Kramer actually had into the product's development. So we asked him.

Their new Vocal Rider, LoAir, and WNS plugins are sure to find their way into countless professional studios and post-production concerns.

Scott Simon is back for his final performance with the Waves Tony Maserati Collection. For the closer, he presents the HMX Harmonics Generator, which apparently works for keys, vocals, and everything else by enhancing some nice stereo action.  

In the penultimate demonstration of the series on the Waves Tony Maserati Collection, Scott Simon gives us a quick and dirty lowdown on the low end. With both a DI and a synth setting, he B72 Bass Phattener can make your bottom nice and phat.  

Since vocals are an entirely different animal than, say, a grand piano; they demand different treatment in post. Waves knows this, and has tailored a plugin specifically for vocal enhancement, namely the Tony Maserati Collection VX1 Vocal Enhancer. Yay Waves!  

Scott Simon from Waves is still hanging around in the Gearwire studio, because there's just so much to go over in the new Tony Maserati Collection. The GTi Guitar Toner almost did him in. We did get him to take a break, eat a sandwich, go out for some fresh air... but the guy was all on fire to get back into the demo groove. After this one, we're totally taking him to the Polish buffet in Burr Ridge.

Expanding upon the original Masters collection, the new Waves Grand Masters plugin bundle adds ten new mastering modules for a total of thirteen mastering plugins. If you can't suppress audio uprisings with this collection, you're just not fit to lead.  

Sam Rosenthal of Black Tape for a Blue Girl records, mixes and produces, but he didn't quite understand the purpose of compression until he met the Waves L1 Ultramaximizer. When whipping your singer into shape fails, the only thing you can really do, he discovered, is fix it in post. He describes that process (not the whipping) in this video.
