Waves Audio SoundGrid Audio-Over-Ethernet Networking And Processing Platform Announced

February 22, 2010
Waves Audio SoundGrid technology lets you run many Waves plugins via Ethernet, with very low latency.

When Waves Audio releases its new SoundGrid technology, you'll be able to run a surprisingly large number of Waves plugins at the same time, using a simple Ethernet connection on a standard PC. According to the manufacturer, SoudGrid surpasses the specs of dedicated DSP-based platforms, offering affordable, low-latency performances and enabling you to use more audio processors and CPU-intensive processors than before.

SoundGrid uses standard, off-the-shelf components (computers, switches, servers, Ethernet cables, and so forth), integrates with analog and digital mixing consoles, and provides a complete Redundancy & Recovery system. Upcoming versions of SoundGrid will implement recording capabilities.

You can use SoundGrid for live sound and touring applications; as a centralized processing hub for mixing, post-production, and broadcast facilities; and for networked audio for sound installations. For more information, please visit waves.com.
