Waves Audio W43 Noise Reduction Plugin: Minimal Artifact Multiband Noise Suppression
Third in the Waves Audio Post Production line of plugins is W43, a new noise reduction plugin based on the classic Cat. 43 hardware noise reduction tool.
The Waves W43 noise reduction plugin builds upon the features set of the rare, long-out-of-production Cat. 43 hardware unit that Waves calls a post-production favorite for decades. According to the manufacturer, the V43 plugin makes ambient noise like hiss, hum, traffic noise, wind, and air conditioning a thing of the past, ensuring that your tracks, with or without dialogue, are clear and free of unwanted whirrs. W43 offers high-quality, minimal artifact multiband noise reduction like the original hardware, while adding all the advantages of software.
W43 includes simple four-band noise suppression controlled by four faders, a global threshold, and an Engage button. Its workflow approach and interface will be very familiar to engineers who perform noise reduction using the Cat. 43, notes Waves. Compatible with both PCs and Macs, the W43 plugin supports multiple simultaneous instances and features true Avid Pro Tools integration, full recall, zero latency, full automation, up to 24-bit, 192 kHz resolution, and support for TDM, RTAS, Audio Suite, VST, and Audio Units formats. What's more, no degradation of sound resulting from I/O conversion occurs, according to Waves.
