C-Thru Music Axis: Keyboards? Phooey! The Future Is In Hexagons!

February 14, 2008
The C-Thru Axis-64 Pro Controller

The C-Thru Axis was designed by a [human] guitarist who bucked the commonly-held idea that a piano was the most intuitive layout for a MIDI controller. The Axis-64 is an expression of theory-based musical interaction, which sounds pretty daunting, but according to Jacqueline Kandalaft from C-Thru, it's actually incredibly intuitive. Provided, of course, that you "completely forget about a keyboard layout." Umm. . . done.

Wacky hexagons aside, the Axis-64 Pro features some controls that will familiar to any electronic musician, including two rotary knobs, pitch and mod wheels, and two jacks for attaching expression or sustain foot pedals. Whoa, back up, cowboy! Did you say FOOT controllers?!?!?! What kinda crazy, upside-down, alternate-universe, mumbo-jumbo are you on about, sailor?!?!?!?

You should show the actual keyboard in action in your movie.
