Yamaha APX. CPX series
Summer NAMM 2006: Yamaha's electric-acoustic APX guitars have been around since 1983. The latest version of the APX series was built with a pickup system designed to eliminate feedback during hard strumming. You also get a built-in tuner -- pretty slick. The higher-end 900 models offer more features, including separate, independentaly adjustable bass and treble contact pickups. The APX comes in a variety of styles, including a "thinline" six-string and 12-string spruce/rosewood models. Check out Gearwire's Yamaha APX guitar series demonstration video for more information (plus a look at Yamaha's CPX Compass series). There's a whole lot of strummin' going on!
Check out the APX and CPX series at Yamaha's official website.
