Yamaha CFX 9' Grand Piano Marks A Bold Step Forward For Yamaha (Video)
We head to the far end of the Yamaha hall at NAMM to check out their new flagship concert grand, the Yamaha CFX. This nine-foot concert grand piano takes over from the much-lauded CFIII and introduced a few progressive design elements.
Senior Technical Manager Bill Brandom was kind enough to give us a quick tour of the Yamaha CFX, point out its revisions to the CF line, and give us a taste of its general tonal qualities. Granted, this is NAMM, and even in the Yamaha-only exhibitor hall, there's still quite a bit of background noise. Still, you might be able to get a sense of the CFX's basic voice.
The Yamaha CFX should be shipping worldwide starting this summer.
