They've been in an electronic drums arms race with Roland for years, but this newest development from Yamaha might just tip the scales. The Yamaha DTX900K and Yamaha DTX950K sets feature a new texture cellular silicone pad for a new and ultra-realistic feel, as well as the mighty DTX900 module.
Both the DTX950K drum kit and the DTX900 module were featured at Winter NAMM 2010, where we got this video of Yamaha clinician and righteous drummer Zack Bond demoing the new kit. The DTX900 module excels at both acoustic and electronic sounds -- and the e-kit played in this video sounds like the soundtrack to every Nick Jr. show produced between 1996 and 2004, i.e. awesome.
