Yamaha Motif XS Makes Beautiful Music In The Hands Of Alan Parsons (Audio)
As the man who introduced most of the mainstream music listening world to the power of synthesis (via his work on Dark Side Of The Moon, is what I'm proffering), Alan Parson's choice of workstation keyboard is a choice of distinction. His choice? Yamaha Motif XS. Alan's been a Motif man for years, and we picked his brain as to why, and what about the XS made him upgrade from the ES he had been using.
We interviewed Alan leading up to the release (today!) of the Alan Parsons Live Project's recent Eye 2 Eye live album and concert DVD, but Alan's also been working on a how-to web-series on recording techniques called The Art and Science of Sound, to which we refer in this interview, and about which we spoke more in depth. That conversation is included in the next part of our Alan parsons interview; keep your browsers pointed at Gearwire.
