Zoom G2G George Lynch "Mr. Scary" Signature Edition: Zoom Pedal Gets Frightening With Formal Titles

June 09, 2008
Zoom G2G George Lynch "Mr. Scary" Signature Edition

George Lynch achieved guitar hero status with Dokken, was twice the bridesmaid but never the bride for Ozzy Osbourne (beat out by Randy Rhoads in 1979 and then more narrowly by Jake E. Lee in 1982) and was credited with double tapping before EVH (much like Leif Erikson to Columbus).

All that hard work that seems to have only resulted in runner-upsmanship has paid off with the Zoom G2G George Lynch "Mr. Scary" Signature edition. Owen O'Malley compares both the functions and Lynch-programmed presets to the sounds of Zoom multi-effects boxes of yore in this Gearwire Studio extravaganza.

poor review for G2G pedal

By: Cale

This review was piss poor. I don't like seeing reviews where the person is not familiar with the product before he/she reviews it. He only played 1 freakin' patch on the G2G! Didn't care to talk about what effects were built in, what paramaters could be edited, or what the patches were created to replicate. Was he a stand-in reviewer for that day? Was he pulled from the CSR department on short notice? I think a supplement review should be given, this time with someone who is familiar with the G2G. Reviews are intended to give people a base of opinion on whether or not to buy the product, correct? This review left me absolutely clueless. Hardly anything was explained; all I got was a nice picture of the G2G and the reviewer twisting knobs. Perhaps I could film a review of it myself and send it to you guys so you could learn how to do a review.

Worthless Review

By: John

As with most reviews from Gear Wire this one is worthless as well. How about playing some of the presets?

Thanks for your constructive criticism.

I will keep these fair and even-handed comments in mind for future multi-effects reviews.

More patches.....

By: Dave

Instead of playing too long on the one patch and tweaking it...maybe you should have tweaked it before hand...and gone through at least 3 or 4 patches...so the viewer could really get to hear the pedal.....one patch doesnt do it....
