ZT Amplifiers The Club Guitar Combo Amp: Like A Really Good Sandwich (Video)

February 03, 2010
ZT Amplifiers The Club Winter NAMM 2010

The guitar community has already been buzzing hard about The Lunchbox, a 200-watt, solid state amp, 1x6.5 combo amp that sounds like a -- I don't know, a backline of Plexi stacks or something. Those seeking a little more from this tiny wonder, however, will be excited to see the unveiling of the ZT Amplifiers The Club.

The Club takes the same basic premise of the Lunchbox, but drives a 12" speaker instead of a 6.5". This more traditional component is sure to add to the Lunchbox's already impressive low-end, and might attract players who were hesitant to commit to a 6.5" speaker. Another excellent addition that guitarists asked for: an effects loop. It also expands the control section with separate treble and bass controls. To top things off, The Club sports a plate-style reverb.

Full features are as follows:

  • EFX Loop
  • Plate Style Reverb
  • Variable Headphone/DI Output
  • Custom Ultra-High Performance 12” Speaker, Switchable
  • External Speaker Output (8 ohms min.)
  • Aux Input on 1/8” Stereo Jack
  • Voltage switch 115V/230V
  • 200W Class A/B Power Amplifier
  • Ultra-low latency circuit for player responsiveness
  • Pure analog front-end, with diode overdrive capability
  • Proprietary dynamic tone shaping
  • Vintage modeled tone stack
  • Class A/B output stage with unregulated linear supply
  • Sealed-box speaker tuning

As you can see in this video from Winter NAMM 2010, the ZT Amps The Club is still amazingly compact, and with a street price of less than $500, it'll fit compact budgets as well.

Let's HEAR the thing!

Is anyone else weary of videos on line about musical products that don't let you HEAR the product? I was hoping to hear someone plug into and PLAY through this amp. Why use video to merely tell me (LESS than) what I just read in the paragraph above the link to the video? Has anyone TRIED this amp? Seems like it would make a great satellite amp - a powered extension for people who use multi-effect processors like Digitech, Line6, BOSS, Korg etc...

But I would love to hear it played or read a review by anyone who's owned one.
